If MySQL is showing any errors during launching, open the XAMP Control Panel (Application>Programming>XAMP Control Panel) and go to manage servers and restart all the three servers shown there.
Xamp software will automatically get installed with MySQL package. All the other softwares like Geany are bundled with Ubuntu 18.04(KITE Version)
